Domestic violence is a public health crisis hiding in plain sight, affecting people of every background, regardless of wealth, race, or color. An estimated four in five women and one in nine men across the U.S. experience some form of domestic violence in their lifetimes. With many barriers to reporting, cases continue to remain hidden and underreported, but public health experts estimate about 10 million victims are affected each year. 

Sacramento, California – October 21, 2024 – Today, Californians for Smarter Sustainability (CASS) announced Edwin Lombard as its new Executive Director. Lombard–a statewide policy leader and former head of two of the state's largest minority chambers of commerce–will lead the organization’s efforts to advocate for policies that balance economic prosperity and quality of life alongside environmental protection.
