Rebuilding California’s Water Infrastructure

California lawmakers must utilize the $1.2 billion of federal funding received to rebuild the state’s failing community infrastructure, including an ailing water network with over 370 systems delivering contaminated water to millions of residents. It is equally imperative that policymakers thoroughly engage with communities across the state to ensure that those most affected by this water contamination crisis are afforded their human right to safe, clean drinking water.

● CASS supports California’s efforts to rebuild its water infrastructure while focusing on drought protection, water storage, and consistent supply for residents.

● CASS will talk to impacted communities about the state’s new Water Plan to debate the impacts and promise of improved water infrastructure.

● CASS supports efforts to provide safe affordable drinking water to Californian residents, such as the bipartisan Removing Nitrate and Arsenic in Drinking Water Act
